Marcel Dalio, originally named Israel Moshe Blauschild, was a prominent French character actor born on November 23, 1899, in Paris. Dalio is best remembered for his significant roles in two of Renoir's masterpieces: "Grand Illusion," released in 1937, and "The Rules of the Game," which premiered in 1939.
