Forest Steven Whitaker, born on July 15, 1961, is a multifaceted American actor, producer, director, and humanitarian. With a celebrated career spanning decades, he has garnered numerous prestigious awards, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Whitaker's cinematic journey began with a memorable role in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), but it was his powerful performances in films like Platoon (1986), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), and Bird (1988) that solidified his reputation as a master of character depth. His versatility is evident in diverse roles across genres, from The Crying Game (1992) and Phenomenon (1996) to Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) and The Butler (2013). His acclaimed portrayal of Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland (2006) earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor.
