Lucy Montgomery
Biography
Lucy Montgomery is a talented performer who honed her craft at Jesus College, Cambridge, where she became involved with the Footlights, the university's esteemed amateur theatre club. She furthered her training at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Montgomery rose to prominence as part of the Comedy Theatre Company Population 3, alongside James Bachman and Barunka O'Shaughnessy. She gained visibility as a roving reporter on the comedic television show The Friday Night Project, and her diverse television credits include appearances on Bo' Selecta!, The Mighty Boosh, and The IT Crowd.
On Radio 4, Montgomery showcased her vocal talents in various programs, such as the satirical phone-in spoof Down the Line, along with titles like Robin and Wendy's Wet Weekends and The Museum of Everything. She created a pilot for her own sketch show, The Full Montgomery, which successfully aired for two series on Radio 4.
In 2005, she began contributing to the BBC Three comedy sketch show Tittybangbang, which ran for three series until late 2007. Montgomery also appeared in The Armstrong and Miller Show and Bellamy's People, in addition to lending her voice to characters in the animated series A Town Called Panic and Badly Dubbed Porn on Comedy Central.
On stage, she has taken on leading roles in acclaimed productions such as Jerusalem alongside Mark Rylance in 2009, and Stephen Sondheim's Company in 2011-2012. Montgomery was also part of the musical Viva Forever!, inspired by the music of the Spice Girls.
