Saeed Jaffrey OBE (1929 - 2015) was a distinguished British actor of Indian descent, renowned for his extensive contributions to both British and Indian cinema. Born in Malerkotla, Punjab, Jaffrey's career spanned several decades and showcased his remarkable versatility across various genres.

His filmography includes notable works such as "The Man Who Would Be King" (1975), "Shatranj Ke Khiladi" (1977), and the critically acclaimed "Gandhi" (1982). Jaffrey also played significant roles in "A Passage to India," appearing in both the 1965 BBC adaptation and the 1984 film version, as well as in "My Beautiful Laundrette" (1985), which highlighted his ability to navigate complex characters.
