David Wu
Biography
David Wu Tai Wai (Chinese 胡大為), born in Hong Kong in 1952, is a prominent Hong Kong-Canadian film and television editor, director, and actor. He is particularly recognized for his significant collaborations with renowned filmmakers John Woo and Ronnie Yu. Wu has also made his mark as the editor of numerous international cult favorites, including A Chinese Ghost Story, Hard Boiled, Bride of Chucky, and Brotherhood of the Wolf.
Throughout his career, Wu has received an impressive 12 nominations for the Hong Kong Film Award in the category of Best Editing, securing victories on two occasions for his work on Hard Boiled in 1992 and The Crossing in 2014. His contributions to the film industry have also earned him nominations from the Directors Guild of Canada and the Leo Awards, highlighting his influence and talent in the field of editing.
