Rena Owen
Biography
Rena Owen is a celebrated actress hailing from New Zealand, recognized for her contributions to film, television, and theatre. She possesses both Maori and Pakeha (European) heritage. Owen gained significant acclaim for her performance as Beth in the iconic film Once Were Warriors (1994), directed by Lee Tamahori. This role not only brought her widespread recognition but also garnered her several prestigious awards, including Best Actress at both the Montreal World Film Festival and the San Diego International Film Festival. Additionally, Owen collaborated with renowned arthouse filmmaker Rolf de Heer, known as one of Australia's prominent directors, in the film Dance Me to My Song (1998).
