Ulay, whose birth name is Frank Uwe Laysiepen, was born in 1943 and is a notable German artist, actor, and photographer currently residing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Ljubljana, Slovenia. He gained global acclaim for his innovative approach to photography, particularly with Polaroid, beginning in the late 1960s. Ulay's artistic journey took a significant turn when he delved into performance art, where he became widely recognized for his impactful collaborations with fellow artist Marina Abramović.
