Kate McKinnon
Biography
Kate McKinnon Berthold, born on January 6, 1984, is a talented American actress, comedian, impressionist, and writer. She gained prominence as a cast member of NBC's sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, where she showcased her skills from 2012 to 2022. McKinnon is particularly recognized for her vibrant character portrayals and accurate celebrity impressions. Her performances earned her ten nominations for the Primetime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics and nine for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, culminating in victories in 2016 and 2017.
Earlier in her career, McKinnon was part of the Logo sketch comedy show The Big Gay Sketch Show, which aired from 2007 to 2010. She has lent her voice to leading characters in the PBS Kids animated series Nature Cat since 2015 and in Netflix's animated series The Magic School Bus Rides Again from 2017 to 2021. Additionally, she took on the role of Carole Baskin in the Peacock miniseries Joe vs. Carole in 2022.
Beyond television, McKinnon has featured in various films, including Balls Out (2014), Ghostbusters (2016), Office Christmas Party (2016), Rough Night (2017), The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018), Yesterday (2019), Bombshell (2019), DC League of Super-Pets (2022), and the highly anticipated Barbie (2023).
