Biography
John Marley (October 17, 1907 – May 22, 1984) was a prominent American actor celebrated for his memorable performances in several iconic films. He garnered significant attention for his portrayal of Phil Cavalleri in the romantic drama Love Story and is perhaps best remembered for his role as Jack Woltz, the unyielding film producer who is shocked to discover the head of his beloved horse in his bed, in the classic film The Godfather (1972).
In addition to these notable roles, Marley showcased his talent in John Cassavetes' groundbreaking film Faces (1968), which helped to redefine independent cinema. He also made an appearance in The Glitter Dome (1984), further solidifying his status as a versatile actor.
