Biography

Lee Phelps (May 15, 1893 – March 19, 1953) was a prolific American actor whose career spanned several decades, during which he amassed an impressive filmography of over 600 movies from 1917 until his passing in 1953. Although many of his appearances were uncredited, Phelps left his mark on classic cinema by featuring in three prestigious films that earned the Academy Award for Best Picture: *Grand Hotel*, *You Can't Take It with You*, and the iconic *Gone with the Wind*.

In addition to his extensive work in film, Phelps also made notable contributions to television. He played a judge in the 1952 episode "Outlaw's Paradise" of the syndicated western series *The Adventures of Kit Carson*, which starred Bill Williams in the lead role. That same year, he made an appearance in episode #90 of the beloved show *The Lone Ranger*, further showcasing his versatility as an actor.
