Biography

Laurent Amir Khlifa Khedider Haddad, known simply as Amir, was born on June 20, 1984, in Paris, France. He is a prominent French-Israeli singer and songwriter, celebrated for his influential contributions to the music scene. Amir, who possesses a hearing loss of 50% in his right ear, showcased his musical talent from a young age, singing in synagogues and community gatherings.

His career took off in 2006 when he participated in the Israeli music competition Kokhav Nolad, where he gained attention for performing predominantly in French. Although he finished the competition without winning, his journey led him to complete his military service in the Israeli Defense Forces before pursuing a degree in dentistry at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, graduating in 2012.

Amir's debut album, *Vayehi*, was released in 2011 and featured his hit "Kache limtso milim," a Hebrew rendition of Patrick Bruel's "J'te l'dis quand même." His performance of this song at a concert with Bruel in 2008 solidified his reputation in the industry.

In 2014, Amir competed in the French version of The Voice, where he was a standout finalist on Team Jenifer, ultimately placing third. He gained international recognition when he represented France in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with "J'ai cherché," finishing in sixth place. Over the years, Amir has collaborated with various artists, expanding his influence across France, Switzerland, the U.S., and Brazil, while continuously pursuing his passion for music.
