Eric Dane, born Eric T. Melvin on November 9, 1972, is a prominent American actor. He began his career in television during the 2000s, gaining recognition for his role as Jason Dean in the popular series Charmed. However, it was his portrayal of Dr. Mark Sloan, affectionately nicknamed "McSteamy," in the hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy that catapulted him to fame.
