Prunella Margaret Rumney West Scales CBE, born on June 22, 1932, is a distinguished English actress renowned for her memorable performances on stage and screen. She gained widespread acclaim for her role as Sybil Fawlty, the sharp-tongued wife of Basil Fawlty (played by John Cleese), in the iconic BBC comedy series Fawlty Towers. Prunella also delivered a remarkable portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in Alan Bennett's A Question of Attribution, a 1991 production for Screen One on the BBC, which earned her a BAFTA nomination.
