Bernard Dhéran
Biography
Bernard Yves Raoul Dhéran (17 June 1926 – 27 January 2013) was a distinguished French actor whose artistic journey spanned more than sixty years across film, television, and theatre. Renowned for his exceptional voice talent, Dhéran is perhaps best recognized for providing the French dubbing for notable actors such as David Niven, Anthony Hopkins, Christopher Plummer, Ian McKellen, and Leslie Nielsen. His versatility extended to animation, where he voiced the iconic character Count Dooku in the animated series *Star Wars: The Clone Wars*. Additionally, he lent his voice to Christopher Lee's portrayal of the same character in *Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones* and *Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith*.
In recognition of his contributions to the performing arts, Dhéran became a member of the prestigious Sociétaires of the Comédie-Française in 1961, solidifying his status in French theatrical circles.
His life came to a close in Marrakech on January 27, 2013. At the time of his passing, he was set to record his lines for the character Odin in the French version of *Thor: The Dark World*. Following his death, Jean-Pierre Moulin, known for voicing Hopkins in French, stepped in to complete the project. Dhéran's legacy endures through his extensive body of work and the memorable characters he brought to life.
