Björk Guðmundsdóttir, born on November 21, 1965, in Reykjavík, Iceland, is a multifaceted artist known for her work as a singer, songwriter, composer, record producer, and actress. Her career, spanning over 40 years, showcases a unique musical fusion influenced by genres such as electronic, pop, jazz, and classical music.
She began her musical journey at age 11 and gained fame as the frontwoman of the Sugarcubes, an alternative rock band, before launching a successful solo career in 1992. Her acclaimed albums, including Debut (1993), Post (1995), and Homogenic (1997), reflect her innovative spirit and willingness to collaborate across various media. Björk has sold between 20 and 40 million records globally and secured numerous chart successes, including 31 singles in the top 40 worldwide.
