Sam B. Hardy (March 21, 1883 – October 16, 1935) was an American actor renowned for his contributions to both stage and film during the silent and early sound periods. He is also recognized by the name Samuel Hardy.

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Hardy initially pursued his studies at Yale University before shifting his focus entirely to acting, where he made his mark on the theatrical stage. He later transitioned to the film industry, starting his cinematic career at Biograph Studios, where he showcased his talent in various productions.

Tragically, Hardy's life was cut short due to health complications. While working on the film *Shoot the Chutes*, which starred Eddie Cantor, he fell seriously ill. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, he was unable to recover and passed away from intestinal issues. His legacy remains as a talented performer who navigated the early days of American cinema and left an indelible mark on the entertainment landscape of his time.
