Biography

Burn Hugh Gorman, born on September 1, 1974, is a versatile English actor and musician celebrated for his compelling performances across television and film. He gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Owen Harper in the acclaimed BBC series Torchwood, which aired from 2006 to 2008. Gorman further expanded his repertoire with his role as Karl Tanner in the iconic HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones during its fourth season from 2013 to 2014. His talent continued to shine as Major Edmund Hewlett in AMC's historical drama Turn: Washington's Spies, where he captivated audiences from 2014 to 2017.

In addition to his television successes, Gorman appeared in notable films, including a memorable role as Phillip Stryver in Christopher Nolan's blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises (2012). He showcased his skills in Guillermo del Toro’s science fiction epic Pacific Rim (2013) and its sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018), as Hermann Gottlieb. More recently, he took on the role of Commander Hoff in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and will portray Father Damien in Tim Burton's much-anticipated Beetlejuice sequel, set for release in 2024.
