Billy Barty, originally named William John Bertanzetti, was a prominent American actor and activist, born on October 25, 1924, and passing away on December 23, 2000. Standing at 3 feet, 9 inches (1.14 m) tall due to cartilage–hair hypoplasia dwarfism, Barty gained recognition for his unique stature, often cast alongside taller actors in comedic roles. In the 1950s, Barty transitioned to television fame, becoming a familiar face as a regular member of the Spike Jones ensemble, where his comedic prowess captivated viewers.
