John Sidney Blyth Barrymore (February 15, 1882 – May 29, 1942) was a distinguished American actor whose talents spanned both the stage and film. Initially celebrated for his striking performances in light comedies, Barrymore's career evolved into powerful portrayals in dramatic roles, notably in Shakespearean classics like *Hamlet* and *Richard III*.
