Carol Lynley, born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942, was an accomplished American actress and former child model who captivated audiences with her talents until her passing on September 3, 2019. Initially starting her career as a child model under the pseudonym Carolyn Lee, Lynley transitioned to acting after gracing the cover of LIFE magazine at just 15 years old.

Lynley made a significant impact early in her career, starring in both the Broadway and film adaptations of the 1959 drama "Blue Denim." This powerful story dealt with themes of unwanted pregnancy and abortion, showcasing her ability to tackle complex subjects. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Most Promising Newcomer – Female the same year.

Throughout her career, Lynley became well-known for various film roles in notable productions such as "Return to Peyton Place," "Under the Yum Yum Tree," "Bunny Lake is Missing," "The Pleasure Seekers," "The Cardinal," and "The Poseidon Adventure," the latter featuring her in the Oscar-winning song "The Morning After," though her vocals were provided by singer Renee Armand.

Lynley also made her mark on television with appearances in iconic shows like "Kolchak: The Night Stalker," "Fantasy Island," "The Big Valley," and "Charlie's Angels." She passed away due to a heart attack at her home in Pacific Palisades, California, at the age of 77.
