Biography

Stephen McCole is a talented Scottish actor known for his impactful performances in both television and film. He gained significant recognition for his leading role in the acclaimed black comedy series *High Times*, where he plays Rab, an unemployed stoner living in a dismal high-rise flat in Glasgow. The series, which won the BAFTA Scotland Best Drama Award in 2004, reflects McCole's own experiences growing up in the Castlemilk project of Glasgow. Notably, his brother, Paul McCole, also stars in the show, contributing to its authenticity.

In addition to *High Times*, McCole's filmography includes a variety of roles, such as in the 2008 adventure comedy *Stone of Destiny*. His earlier work includes appearances in *The Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star* (1998), *The Acid House* (1998), and *Postmortem* (1998), alongside a significant role in the 2003 BBC One miniseries *The Key*.

Beyond acting, McCole has showcased his talents as a director. In 2005, he directed the short comedy film *Electric Blues*, which was penned by his brother.
