Parker Stevenson

Biography

Parker Stevenson, born Richard Stevenson Parker, Jr., is a prominent American actor celebrated for his extensive work in television and film. He first gained recognition with his leading role in the 1972 film *A Separate Peace*, and after completing his education at Brooks School and Princeton University, where he studied architecture, Stevenson transitioned to Hollywood. His early career included a significant role alongside Sam Elliott in the 1976 movie *Lifeguard*.

Stevenson rose to fame in the late 1970s, co-starring with teen idol Shaun Cassidy in *The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries*, a series produced by Glen A. Larson that aired on ABC from 1977 to 1979. In 1983, he took on the role of Aubrey James, a rival to Burt Reynolds, in the film *Stroker Ace*, though the movie did not perform well critically or at the box office.

In 1986, he portrayed Billy Hazard in the acclaimed miniseries *North and South: Book II*, sharing the screen with his then-wife Kirstie Alley. Stevenson also starred in the short-lived series *Probe* in 1988 and was part of the original cast of *Baywatch*, appearing in the 1989 season and returning for its syndication in 1997 and 1998. His other notable appearances include a recurring role on *Melrose Place* and a guest spot in the series *Longmire* in 2014.

In addition to acting, Stevenson has pursued photography, showcasing his work on his website, Shadowworks. Currently, he stars as Louis Osmond, the Academy Director, in the Netflix series *Greenhouse Academy*, which began in 2017.
