Dennis Morgan
Biography
Dennis Morgan, originally named Earl Stanley Morner, was an influential American actor and singer born on December 20, 1908, and he passed away on September 7, 1994. Early in his career, he worked under the stage name Richard Stanley while at MGM, where he took on minor roles in films such as *Mama Steps Out* and *Song of the City*, both released in 1937.
His transition to Paramount saw him continue to build his resume with a series of films in 1938 and 1939, including *Men With Wings*. However, it was at Warner Bros. that he truly found his footing, adopting the name Dennis Morgan. Here, he landed lead roles in a number of B movies like *Waterfront* and *No Place to Go*, both from 1939. By 1940, he had graduated to A-list productions, showcasing his talents in memorable films such as *Kitty Foyle*, *Thank Your Lucky Stars* (1943), and *God is My Co-Pilot*. Morgan often collaborated with fellow actor Jack Carson, creating a notable on-screen partnership.
Following the end of his Warner Bros. contract in 1952, Morgan transitioned to television, making occasional guest appearances. He ultimately retired from the film industry in 1956, leaving behind a legacy of diverse performances and a significant contribution to American cinema.
