Janet Leigh, whose birth name was Jeanette Helen Morrison, was an iconic American actress, singer, dancer, and author, born on July 6, 1927, and passing on October 3, 2004. Her extensive career, lasting over fifty years, began when she was discovered at the age of 18 by actress Norma Shearer, leading to a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Before her significant acting debut, Leigh honed her skills through radio performances. She made her film entrance with the drama The Romance of Rosy Ridge in 1947. During her tenure at MGM, she showcased her versatility in a variety of films across different genres, including the crime-drama Act of Violence (1948), the beloved adaptation of Little Women (1949), the light-hearted comedy Angels in the Outfield (1951), the romantic adventure Scaramouche (1952), and the western The Naked Spur (1953).
