Biography
Rachel Leah Bloom (born April 3, 1987) is a multifaceted American talent recognized as an actress, comedian, singer, writer, and producer. She gained widespread fame as the co-creator and star of the CW musical comedy-drama series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which aired from 2015 to 2019 and earned her numerous prestigious awards, such as a Golden Globe Award, a TCA Award, a Critics' Choice Television Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance as Rebecca Bunch.
Bloom initially captured attention through her comedic music videos on YouTube, one of the most notable being "Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury," which received a Hugo Award nomination. Her film credits include roles in Most Likely to Murder (2018), The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019), and Trolls World Tour (2020). Additionally, she produced a one-woman stage show that eventually became a comedy special titled Rachel Bloom: Death, Let Me Do My Special, which debuted on Netflix on October 15, 2024, following successful performances at the Orpheum Theatre in Manhattan and the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Furthermore, Bloom authored a memoir named I Want To Be Where The Normal People Are, released by Grand Central Publishing on November 17, 2020, detailing her experiences and reflections.
