Biography
John William Ferrell, born on July 16, 1967, is a celebrated American actor, comedian, writer, and producer recognized for his dynamic presence in comedy films and television. Ferrell's impressive career is punctuated by numerous accolades, including six Primetime Emmy Awards, a British Academy Television Award, and nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and a Tony Award. In 2011, he was honored with the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, and in 2015, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, further solidifying his status when he was named the best comedian by British GQ.
Ferrell gained prominence in the mid-1990s as a cast member of the iconic sketch show Saturday Night Live, where he entertained audiences from 1995 to 2002. His breakout role in the 2003 film Old School positioned him as a key figure in the "Frat Pack," a collective of leading comic actors like Jack Black, Ben Stiller, and Steve Carell, who surged to fame in the late '90s and early 2000s. In 2007, he co-founded the influential comedy website Funny or Die.
